SSL certificates: choose what gets verified
Every certificate encrypts a connection the same way. What differs is how much a certificate authority checks before it issues one — the domain, the organization behind it, or the organization under the strictest review there is.
The cheapest certificate at each level, per year on a one-year term. Longer terms are on the cards below.
Pick the certificate that fits
Domain validation
The authority checks that you control the domain, usually by email or a DNS record. Nothing about your company is verified.
Organization validation
The authority confirms your company in a public registry and writes the checked name into the certificate.
Extended validation
The full vetting procedure: legal existence, registered address, and the authority of the person who asks.
Wildcard
One certificate for a domain and every subdomain one level below it — shop, blog, api, staging.
Every certificate we sell
Most sites need none of these: every hosting plan here already comes with a free certificate. Buy one when the name inside it has to be checked by somebody.
No introductory rate: a certificate renews at the price on this page, and that price follows the authority’s.

What every certificate includes
Trusted by every current browser
Issued by RapidSSL, GeoTrust or DigiCert — authorities in the root store every browser ships with.
We help with the installation
Order it here and open a ticket: we generate the request, go through the validation with you and install the certificate on your inSave hosting.
Free SSL is already on every plan
Every site we host gets a free Let's Encrypt certificate. Buy one of these when you need a checked company name inside it.
Issued for the term you pay for
Browsers cap a single certificate at about a year, so a two- or three-year term is reissued each year until the term runs out.
SSL questions
My plan already has free SSL. Do I need to buy one?
Usually not. Every site on inSave hosting gets a free Let's Encrypt certificate, and browsers trust it exactly as much for encryption. You buy a certificate when you need your organization's name checked and written into it, or when a payment provider or a client asks for a specific one.
What is the difference between DV, OV and EV?
How much is checked before the certificate is issued. DV checks control of the domain, OV checks the organization in a public registry, EV runs the full vetting procedure. The encryption is identical in all three.
Do browsers still show a green address bar for EV?
No. Browsers dropped that indicator in 2019. The vetted organization details are still inside the certificate, where anyone can open and read them.
Can I use a certificate bought here somewhere else?
Yes. A certificate belongs to the domain, not to our servers: you get the files and can install them on any host.
Not sure which certificate you need?
Tell us the domain and what it has to satisfy — a payment provider, an audit, a client's checklist — and we will say which level is enough.
